Summary: The Events and Catering Manager is a strategic thinker and a hands-on doer with a knack for creating memorable guest experiences. This position is responsible for driving and managing the on and off-site catering events. In this role you will work closely with The Director of Operations, Executive Chef, and Executive team in order to implement and drive an annual catering events strategy that strengthens the existing client base, creates new business opportunities and elevates relationships across all concepts. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit, is service-oriented with an eye for detail, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
From intimate dinner parties and food festivals, to weddings and large-scale events, this position requires organization and extensive catering sales knowledge.

  • Responsible for proactively selling and managing small and large group catering opportunities, working off annual sales goals for all locations

  • Fields inquiries and manages client base while generating new business leads

  • Negotiates prices and arrangements with clients, draws up contracts, and secures client signatures and deposit

  • Uses professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy internal business and external client requirements

  • Works with the Executive Chef and Director of Operations to develop specialty menus per client needs and budget

  • Prepares quarterly sales reports for The Executive Teams review, including individual event wrap-ups and P&Ls

OPERATIONS: This position requires a strong leader who has experience dealing with vendors and venues, organizing rental orders, managing staff, and handling a large volume of inquiries at one time. Responsibilities include:

  • Leads catering operations and serves as the main point of contact for clients, chefs, vendors and staff for both on and off-site of events

  • Works with clients on design and set-up of each event

  • Applies for liquor permits through ABC and assists in insurance requirements for events

  • Schedules catering personnel appropriately based upon event needs; manages necessary staff recruiting

  • Manages relationships with rental companies

  • Coordinates with all vendors and venues; including event orders (glassware, rentals etc.)

  • Ensures that all catering orders are processed and fulfilled to client expectations

  • Accommodates last minute orders and add-ons efficiently and courteously

  • Manages all paperwork - including schedules, invoices, and contracts

  • Tracks hours for catering staff and assists with payroll

  • Communicates specific marketing collateral needs to internal marketing team members for on-time delivery and placement (i.e. menus, printed promotional materials etc.)
